Good, let's start with this site. When I first started looking at getting serious about throwing my hat into the writers ring, I found Scryptic Studios.
There is a wealth of information and people at various levels in the field that will help you here. Many of which started out here and have since been published.

So you just might want to take a closer look around and come back often. You just never know what great tidbit of information you'll pick up that will help you on your way in becoming a writer.

The secret to writing is easy. It's words! A wordsmith without words would be like a lion tamer without the lions. Or a juggler without the flaming chainsaws. But be careful, the same words that can make you famous can also ruin you as quickly as a lion can make the tamer a meal... or as quickly as the flaming chainsaws can make the juggler a permanent southpaw.

I think Zima only works for Jimmie. Though I haven't tried it yet. I doubt I will get the same Popeye fueled writing abilities that Jimmie gets.
