My favorite book on writing is David Morrell's Lessons From a Lifetime of Writing. He's the guy who created Rambo with his novel First Blood. It tells you everything you need to know.
I also own a book called Writers on Comics Scriptwriting. I reviewed it for scryptic over a year ago, and I've read it a bunch of times. IF you're interested in writing comics then this is a good option; far from perfect, but as a book of interviews it asks all the right questions and has pages of scripts to work from. Hope that helps.

I have Writers on Comic Svriptwriting 2 and it's probably the biggest inspiration and motivation I have. Definitely recommend it (and I need to get a copy of the first one).

I second that. And I've got the first one as well, they're both great.

I also recomend the "Elements of Fiction Writing" series. Great writing resources not just for comic-writing, but all around. In particular of that series Orson Scott Card's "Characters and Viewpoints" and Jack. M. Bickham's "Scene & Structure" are great...

I just recently read Writing for Comics by Peter David and found that to be very helpful.
