Viki King's How to Write a Movie in 21 Days is full of all sorts of good practical writing wisdom that applies to much more than movies. Probably my favorite book on writing.
David Ball's Backward & Forwards is intended as a book about how to read a play (yeah, I know), but ends up being a great technical manual on how to write.
Depending on your faith, Madeline L'Engle's Walking on Water is also a fantastic read.

I can't recommend Aristotle's Poetics enough, for all I've gotten from it. I have a really good edition from Hill and Wang; affordable and readable. He touches on all that you're looking for- action, plot, character, etc. I'd be interested to hear what you think, if you do read it.

Story - Robert McKee. I find it to be a hard read and I can only take it in about 20 minutes chunks, but it is story building gold.
