La Reunion Workshop: Scriptwriting for Graphic Nov

The event is on Saturday, April 14th, 11 AM to 5 PM at the McKinnedy Avenue Contemporary (3120 McKinney Avenue ) in Dallas. It costs $20 if you register in advance or $25 at the door. Workshop topics and activities include a visual presentation From Story to Script, scripting exercises, a lunch panel discussion on the work dynamic between writer and artist, and collaborative activities.
The morning workshop sessions are led by local comic book writers A.C. Hall, Robin Gillespie, P.J. Kryfko, and Rob Osborne, intended to introduce the basic skills necessary for good scriptwriting. The lunch panel discussion features writers in both graphic novels and other media, discussing the challenges of turning over the written word to an illustrator, filmmaker, or playwright. The afternoon sessions, will be led by writers in other media including Kathleen Culebro, Vicki Cheatwood,and Steve Davis, and brings into the conversation a diversity of writers and artists who want to understand organizing a visual story through script.
A free evening wrap-up party after the workshop will be held at the Belmont Hotel, located at 901 Fort Worth Avenue in North Oak Cliff from 7 PM to 9 PM.
