Never regret. If it's good, it's wonderful. If it's bad, it's experience.

Sometimes the insights in your column terrify me; we seem to be tracking along similar lines of ideas. Are you hacking into my computer and stealing my ideas for The Story Factory?
Yes.

Next question?

This seems like as good a time as any to mention that a new column is up. This one's all about answering that age-old question:

Where do you get your ideas?

Check it out and let us know what you think!

Because meeting deadlines is important, even during the holidays when you really don't feel a whole lot of motivation to do anything besides watch It's A Wonderful Life and drink eggnog, I wrote a new column this week, per the usual schedule.

It's called Dreams of France, and 4 Degrees from Aimee Mann.

I was thinking it might be the column that gets me cancelled, but Drew said it was alright, so check it out and post your thoughts, comments, and future column topics right here!

Salut,
Elton

1) That link in last week’s column … just … wow.

2) Aimee Mann rocks!

3) Damn, now I want to go to France, too. Lucky for me, I live really close to the border and go there 2-3 times a year (if only for a few hours). And by there I mean Strasbourg - I could actually be standing on la place Kléber in 90 minutes.
So I really hope that dream of yours will come true someday.

There's a messed-up paranoid conspiracy thriller in there somewhere, if I can ever get my head around it. Right now my brain just kind of melts when I contemplate it, though.

Always good to meet another fan!

I can't believe you are so close to Strasbourg! Now I really will have to look you up when I finally get back there.

Ah, Place Kléber. Brings back many fun memories. Someday I'll get off my butt and dig up my box o' many photos/souvenirs from that crazy summer, and slap a couple of 'em up online.

I took a weekend trip to Freiburg one time. Other than that, I guess the Hofbrau House in Munich was my only experience in Germany. And what an experience it was!
