Wow, I spent the day riding three wheelers at Pismo Beach back in 1987. I don't remember any chocolate covered bugs though. What does a scorpion taste like?

They don't have a very strong flavor of their own. A little akin to toasted rice. We had two batches of 50. The one batch was a little chewier than the others, so with chocolate they tasted a bit like Milk Duds. The crunchier ones were more like Goobers, minus the peanutty flavor.

Yikes... my fear of anything with more than four legs will have me buying real Milk Duds, instead!

Thanks for the warm welcome, though. So, someone pass the grape juice, and tell me what's fun to do around here. I was gonna just wander the halls, but was afraid I was going to end up in Ryan's inner sanctum by mistake.

Extra legs just mean extra drumsticks! Mmm.

The site's still fairly (re)new, but there are now 5 different weekly columns, as well as a monthly one and archives from the old site's columns. Lots of cool stuff to check out there. (I particularly hear some guy named Caleb does an awesome column called Making Good)

And be sure to stop by this thread if you have any suggestions as we build Scryptic into a comic writing empire!

Excellent! Will do. (now if I could only learn how to write... or read for that matter!)

Thanks for the 'heads up'.

Cool, I've eaten a lot of strange stuff but no bugs or spiders to date. Not that I wouldn't, just haven't had the oportunity. If I get the chance to try scorpions I will check to see if they taste like milk duds or goobers.

Thanks!
