Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

Lost In Translation

Does anyone know of any companies that will assist writers in translating their work into different languages?

I don't mean something as simple as Babelfish. I'm talking about a translation that preserves the tone and feel of the original material; something that obviously requires a human translator.

I'm in the final stages of work on a children's book and I'd like to present it in multiple languages.

Thanks!

I really wish I did. I would just search the web for people who speak the language you're looking for, and tell them they'll get translation credit in the book if they assist you.

The scariest part is: can you trust them?

I've got some good friends who speak Spanish, French, and German. They're not professional translators or anything and I don't know if they'd even be interested, or you would, but let me know if you want to look into that at all and I'll be happy to facilitate however I can.

I just want to see something I've written translated into Japanese... that would be so cool.
