For a detail oriented look at scripting for a monthly series there is the DC Guide to Writing Comics. It has a great method for tracking multiple sub plots.
For an example of a script and the final product all in one book try Arkham Asylum, 15th Anniversary edition. It starts with the full graphic novel and then ends with a copy of the actual script and notes from the writer about the process. Note, only the anniversary edition has the script at the back.
I heard that BMB uses final draft and I'm curious to see what one of his final drafted scripts looks like. I wonder if just looks like a movie script or what? I used FD too, but I've tweeked the hell out of my settings and gotten the formatting into a strange hybrid of a traditional comic script and a screenplay. I like it.
Yeah, his scripts look a lot like screenplay format, with a few visible differences. But the format, spacing, and layout are pretty much the same.
You can check out his scripts in the POWERS SCRIPTBOOK which collects the original scripts for Powers #1-11, along with some hand written notes, behind the scenes look, and sketches. A great book for any comic book writer!
As for computer writing software, I use mostly MOV IE MAGIC SCREENWRITER. I've tried Final Draft, but I just like MMS much better. That's one reason I sought them out as a companion to Scryptic Studios.
