...you should send out, today, the best work you are capable of doing today. Of course you'll do better a year from now. But a year from now you should be writing the story that you care about and believe in at that time--not reworking this year's story.
Was crazy to see how quickly the memberships piled up.
The tools in development sound awesome.
Dec 12th, 2006... Users, tag thyself! You can now add up to ten "tags" to your profile to identify your connection to the comics industry. At the moment, each tag is clickable and leads to a sub-memberlist of all members sharing that tag. As the day progresses and I have a few tags to work with in the database, I'll make them searchable and browsable.
To add tags to your profile, just login to your ComicSpace and click on Manage Profile. Please let me know if you run into any problems.
Dec 11th, 2006... I spent the weekend compiling suggestions and requests and I've come up with a list of half-a-dozen features that will begin appearing over the next few days and weeks...
* You'll be able to "tag" yourself to identify your connection to the comics industry. For example, "writer", "artist", "retailer", "fan", etc.. You'll be able to add as many tags as you like. Tags will be searchable and browsable. * You'll be able to add an RSS feeds to your page content section, as well as RSS feeds in the area designated for your comics. * You'll be able to "tag" your friends to create sub-groups, and you'll be able to display a specific sub-group on your main page rather than having your most recent friends appear. * There will be a "Fans" list which will be similar to the "Friends" list. You'll be able to add yourself as a fan of another user without that user's approval. This will allow fans to keep track of creators who don't want to friend everyone. * The comments section will be modified to allow more streamlined conversations. * You'll be able to customize the colors of your ComicSpace.
Comment on these upcoming features or suggest new ones at the ComicSpace QuickTopic.
Dec 9th, 2006... The new server seems to be doing a great job. Pages are loading faster than a caffeinated ferret. Many thanks to Hostway for being the best hosting company in the world.
I've had a couple strange reports of users being prompted to download php pages when trying to click through from email links. I haven't managed to replicate this behavior myself, but apparently it can be corrected by clearing the browser's cache and restarting the browser. If you're experiencing these issues, please let me know.
