Will Venom be in Spider-Man 3?

Yeah, I know ... we've seen the black symboite in the trailers and posters and we know Topher Grace is playing Eddie Brock.
But really ... do we know that VENOM is going to be in the movie?
Not just suit, but Eddie in the suit, threatening Spidey.
I'm thinking no.
I have a very strong feeling that this movie will be all about Peter getting this new symbiotic suit and how it affects him negatively - turning him into a jerk. It will also have an underlying story involving Eddie's rivalry with Peter. I'm guessing the movie will actually be about how Peter handles, and eventually escapes, the suit, and at the very end of the movie the suit bonds with Eddie, leaving it open for a big event in Spider-Man 4!
It seems like a bit of a cop out, but what a way to build anticipation for SM4 when SM3 hasn't even been released yet.
Mark my words. We will not see Spider-Man fighting "Venom" in this movie.
You'll have to wait until 2010 for that.

You might be right about that.
If you think of the costs alone for SFXs--you have ones for Spidey and Sandman, that alone costs a fortune.
Perhaps they are preparing for a duo villain storyline for #4? If you set up for Venom in #3, you don't need to work on a setup story on him, leaving you time for an other villain to enter the fray. Lizard would be cool, but since they would have a freaky villain, perhaps Vulture?
It would be nice to see Black Cat though--no reason

A friend who worked on the film told me Venom was in it. He's ot a comic reader, so he may be referring to the symbiote, but I also heard there was a big kerfuffle when an unapproved trailer got leaked to the internet that had a shot of Venom in it, which was not supposed to happen.
That's the sum of my knowledge on the subject. I think we will see him, though it may be brief.

My guess is that it will be a teaser at the end, setting things up for #4. But, if they do that, when will Harry become Goblin? My guess, in Spider-Man 5 due to be released in 2000-and-whenever

I think Harry takes on some Goblin attributes in this movie, but I'm not sure how much. Wasn't that him on the glider in the trailer?
As for Venom ... I think we will see him in this movie, but only in the last few minutes of this movie to present a giant threat that will hook fans for SM4.

I hope they split the movie into two parts. Sandman/Goblin in the first half with revenge being the main theme. Then mid movie they'll be a matrix like twist and Venom will start smashing up the place.
