It's funny that you mention BW, because his site was one of the ones that helped determine the direction I went. I looked all through the web, and basically the sites whose layouts I liked best were almost all WordPress sites (Brian Wood, Mike Carey, Avatar Press, Eximious Press), so that's what I used myself when the time came. They aren't all the best looking sites, but I love how straightforward and easy to find information it makes everything. Plus, it's simple enough that I was able to build it myself for free and will be able to maintain and update it similarly.
