Well, Happy New Year! It’s now 2008…and that means it’s time to start gearing up for Small Press Idol 2008! I’m going about, inviting anyone and everyone, to participate in the greatest show in Indy Comics. Last year, over 100 teams competed for the chance to be published, and dozens of the top projects have been appearing in Mysterious Visions Anthology. 3 of the other top projects have been picked up by 3rd party publishers, and a couple others are also now with the Dimestore Imprint. This year, we’re upping the ante. With a very small entry free, we’re going to have a CASH PRIZE for the winner, as well as a publishing deal. Sounds interesting? Anyone who is not currently being published by a “name” company, who is not making a living making comics, is eligible. So if you have a webcomic you’d like to rework a bit into a comic…entering will grab you lots of new eyes on your work. Self published issues haven’t been selling great? How long do you have? Well, we officially start posting the first projects the day after the Superbowl (and yes, we already have a few official projects waiting for that day!) and will continue posting them through March 16th. So, plenty of time to get a team together, plan out your project, and take your shot. Register today! Keep your eyes peeled for sponsors for this year’s contest.
